An open Letter to Florence Masebe: Harassment 

Will you please refrain from using my fb page and twitter accounts to advance your career.  I know you want to advance your career but so do I. I complained a lot about the use of our family names by the SABC and certain celebs on my blog but I see our birthdays are becoming a trend too.  I have been harassed ever since I was in high school (the list is on my blog: Florence Shoko SA) I’m trying to get this harassment to stop and this is making it impossible if people like you also are also on the bandwagon

I regret the day I sent you an email, asked you to help me organize a show of similarities and gave you the link to my blog.  I have copyrighted this information under “A THEORY OF ALLEGORICAL NAMES” since 2011. This info is on posted on my blog in January.  

I cannot get a job in the entertainment industry or anywhere in SA because of the harassment and exploitation of us and my work and this isn’t making things easy. I am a single mother of a 12yr old child and this harassment is starting to affect her too. I am trying to make a living for us as well as use this info for my show (like on the January email I sent you) and this harassment and abuse of my copyrighted work is not making things easy.  

I see information on your twitter account that’s similar to that on my blog, facebook page and twitter accounts and am amazed as to why you would do this, when you know about my plight. This is an infringement of our privacy and I’m asking you to stop. 

Please don’t use any information coming from my social networks for you interviews on magazines or to advance your career because this is about me and not you. I’ve used my family history, personal experiences and dreams. My dreams on my fb page are just that, stuff I dream about and they have nothing to do with you. Dreams are free, it really isn’t necessary for anyone to steal this info to enrich themselves. 

I know you have children, you provide for them and want the best for them, so do I. This (personal) info, is my work that’s being abused for entertainment, while we suffer, was meant for me to build my career with. I’m only going to point out the most recent stuff, don’t want to go to deep into this harassment because it will take more pages:   

7 July 

I really don’t understand why everything you do has to be on the seventh, this is my Bday and not yours.  

7 August and 7 November

 I also don’t understand why you’re shows have to be on the 7^th of both these months and not on the other months, does this has to do with my family. My daughter’s Bday is in November and her dad’s in August.

My name, I have named Mantshegele® Media” (Production Company) after it. It’s a Tswana name because that’s what I am, a Motswana despite my surname. It was decided you'd signed a contract to act in a Tswana movie/drama this week while I have decided on this Tswana name this week (twitter and fib), is this deliberate or co-incidental.

 I sincerely hope this confusion/trend will come to an end. Stop copying me, I’m not copying you.

Will you please refrain from using information from my blog, twitter account, Facebook page to advance your career. You are even using my daughter’s (15) information to endorse your daughter. Stop copying my daughter. It’s my daughter Naledi Shoko who wants to become a musician and a fashion designer.  The guitar is on my twitter account since 2013. I registered a company that specialized with curtains and clothes. It’s Naledi who wants to become a designer like her grandmother and me and now yours too.  

It’s my family who are similar with Leonardo Da Vinci (artist) and are members of Zion Christian Church. My brother Thabo is an artist and yours is a politician, their occupation are not the same.

Please stop using this information to confuse the whole SA and the world as if it’s about you. This information is on my social networks. It’s about us and not for entertainment. I suggest you relay this message to your daughter too. She is not similar with my daughter Naledi. I am the one who looks like Mona Lisa and not you. Please refrain from harassing us.
